It seems remarkable that Argentina are level, such was France’s dominance at stages – Kylian Mbappe was causing all sorts of problems for the Argentina back four, with his express pace simply too much to handle.
He won an early penalty – which was buried by teammate Antoine Griezmann – and continued to wreak havoc.
He nearly had a second penalty, but was fouled just outside the box.

And it appeared as though Argentina was well off the pace and it was only a matter of time before they added to their advantage.
And then Angel di Maria stepped up with an absolute rocket. He unleashed a left foot laser from distance that sent the crowd inside Kazan Arena into hysterics.
France went from eying a 2-0 halftime lead, to regrouping right on the break.
