The then-girlfriend of Jeffrey Lindsell who died after his Sydney granny flat went up in flames has been charged with his murder.
Police will allege Amanda Zukowski, 46, tampered with the water supply and deliberately set the Gymea property in Sydney’s south on fire.
She allegedly knew Mr Lindsell was asleep at the time.
On October 7 last year, Mr Lindsell left the local pub just before midnight where he had been drinking with friends to walk back to his San Remo Avenue house alone.
Just before 1.30am Mr Lindsell was rescued from the house after it was engulfed in flames.
He was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital but having suffered extensive burns he died two days later.
Over the next eight months detectives from the Financial Crimes Squad’s Arson Unit investigated the circumstances surrounding the fire.
After collecting key evidence Ms Zukowski was arrested at her Marrickville home yesterday.
She was taken to Newtown Police Station and charged with murder.
